I approached my good friend Russell Simmons, who owns a property on Liberty Street, with this idea a few months ago.
(See phase one page for more background info.)
Since the original window displays went up the attention received by the messages of the Liberty street protest have been seen by thousands and thousands of visitors to the Ground Zero/World Trade Center site. Most people from all around the world and from the 5 boroughs are happy to see the positive messages. Some complain that they are not respectful to the "troops" or to the people who have perished at the site, obviously to those who would like to think just a tiny bit deeper, nothing could be farther from the truth. True violence begets violence if you decide you want to participate in that downward spiral of hate. But we have none, except for those who perpetuate war mongering on the planet, without a care for the real human suffering that goes on across the globe and within our own country everyday due to the greed of dishonest politicians and the people who support their policies. The agenda of big business that does not care of the human plight but only of their corporate profits is selfish and short sighted. It is every free thinking persons duty to speak out against these bullies who force average citizens to forget about their own worth and pride in the society we all help create.
This is just another few folks getting together to voice an opinion. One that is being stifled out of fear. Fear that is generated buy a government that wants absolute control over it's citizens, when it should be working towards harmony with them.

As stated in the previous note: The current Republican administration is perhaps the most arrogant, rude, abusive, power-hungry government that has existed in U.S. history. Most Americans can't stand them. They "stole" the election, they are headed towards global destruction for corporate gain, and it is the responsibility of every citizen to speak out against them!
Another main goal of this is for the president or future president to be confronted with a strong anti-war message when they come through town. Be assured and clear that this message is directed at any and ALL legislators, individuals, or governments who support war.

(Police started gathering outside as we were installing this round. Probably for some routine exercise getting ready for the RNC - but it did give us something to think about while standing in the eight foot window frames hanging the messages.)

This phase 2.0 of the LIBERTY STREET PROTEST is sure to attract even more attention to our positive messages. Please feel free to send you letters, e-mails, and phone calls of support of our messages to your local politicians, and those here in New York City especially who are getting calls from right wing supporters who are afraid of dissent from their dictators chosen path.
And if you live here, especially during the convention I would like to encourage you to post signs in your own windows, if your building allows, it supporting your own personal views.

Myself with Russell Simmons, Chris Habib, and Shepard Fairey (+ the folks out at Monster Media who contributed some of the essential materials), have all collaborated, with others too in creating this powerful message in this most interesting location. We can only hope it inspires more positive non-violent change for the betterment of all life on the planet, by speaking out we re-enforce the ideals of caring and life, not death and destruction.
